Two-spin Rule
Adapted from the Octane™ Pro Series 2011 Series Rulebook
Incident
An Incident is classified as a self-spin or any other action that that brings out a caution during the race. Any driver that causes two incidents during a race shall be black flagged and asked to take his vehicle to the garage for the remainder of that race.
Self-spins
Self-spins are single vehicle incidents that bring out a caution and are usually caused by one of the following:
Other Actions
Generally speaking, attempts to gain as many positions at one time are the cause of most avoidable incidents and can be catagorized as follows:
Take your time passing the vehicle in front of you; show him the respect you want to be shown. If the driver in front of you realizes you are faster, he will let you by.
Infraction
It is the responsibility of each driver to claim their incidents. If you are responsible for an incident that causes a caution (as defined in the section above), claim the incident either verbally on Teamspeak or in the chat window. If it is your second incident of the race, park your vehicle in the garage for the remainder of the race.
If an incident that causes a caution is not claimed by a driver, race officials will review the incident after the race to determine the driver at fault. If race officials deem a driver is at fault for an unclaimed incident, the driver will subject to the escalation process (warnings, point reductions, and race suspensions).
Any incident by a driver that causes excessive damage to another vehicle during a race that does not cause a caution can be deemed an incident by race officials if the driver has been warned previously for aggressive or out of control driving.
Drivers have the right to protest all two-spin rulings after the race is over only. Do not call out another driver or discuss an incident during the race. Wait until after the 24-hour cool down period.
